Technical data

The name HR.net makes it visible that this is an information system based on Microsoft .NET technologies. The system uses ASP.NET technology with intensive use of XML and SOAP for data transfer between a client and three WEB-services which comprise the middle system layer. Its performances and scalability were major obstacles of developing transactive intensive WEB-application, which was an additional challenge in the phase of HR.net programming. The solution lies in the optimized use of behavior, client scripts and server codes «code behind». The result is a system that is extremely quick, much better than classical multi-layer application under COM (i.e. payroll for 1000 employees lasts for 25 seconds). The complexity of the system is also visible in project statistics that are basically multi-layer and multi-component WEB application. Database is a Microsoft SQL Server 2000 with over 250 tables and more than 1500 stored procedures. The middle business layer comprises three WEB-services: support service to HRM and WEB-service for support to the bonus and payroll system.

We have also developed a WEB-service for support to mobile devices: phones and PDA devices (IPAQ, etc). The WEB-application itself contains over 250 aspx forms with 600 xslt, JScript and VBScript codes, which make the presentation part of the system. The client is an internet browser (IE 5.5 or newer) which enables the use in business systems on several locations and with numerous users. The user interface itself is completely compatible with Windows XP interface, with customary options for MS office tools: drag and drop, context menu, toolbar, etc.

Connections

HR.net system connects to other systems using different technologies:

1. Text database
 -  This data exchange system enables simple support to SAP. Database Import is achieved by automatization of Microsoft DTS and saving into HR.net base, whereas database export is achieved directly from the HR.net system:

- Example: basal area export into the main book of the SAP system.
- Exchange of data on insurance provisions from SAP to Generali Life Insurance

2. SAP BAPI i .NET Connector
- Data exchange using SAP BAPI objects and SAP .NET connectors enables a highly sophisticated approach to solving business integration processes, as well as the use of SAP functions through user’s interface of HR.net.
- Example: transaction „interface“system between HR.net and Ericsson corporate SAP system.

3. OLEDB and ODBC connections
- Through OLE DB or ODBC interface it is possible to connect HR.net system with practically any relation database (Oracle, DB2, Sybase, etc).
- In order to make the approach to complex data structures of HR.net system, the data are in practice abstracted through SQL Views..

» Testimonials
"Thanks to the interface similar in use to the one standard in office applications, it is easy to use the system without any special training, which is particularly important for self-service systems."
